HUMAN SERVICES
Services provided to enable people to manage their personal environments and gain control over their own lives.
For Textron Aviation, Human Services means providing much needed resources, such as food, shelter and adult services, when the community needs them the most. We are proud to support organizations such as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Airlift Command, American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rainbows United, Wichita Children’s Home and local food banks.
QUALITY OF LIFE
Services provided to improve the general well-being of individuals and to foster their sense of connectedness and belonging in their community.
Supporting organizations that transform the communities where we live and work into vibrant places to call home defines our quality of life initiatives. Past projects include supporting full-run productions at the Music Theatre of Wichita, program support for the Wichita Youth Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Grand Opera, Tallgrass Film Festival and the Wichita River Festival, among others.
EDUCATION
Services that provide development opportunities to advance the knowledgebase of individuals in the community and to impact the workforce and society.
Sustaining programs that get students interested in STEM, aviation and business-related programs and encouraging them to pursue a career in those fields are important initiatives for Textron Aviation. Each year, we partner with Wichita State University to develop future talent through the Kansas BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) competition – exposing high school students to the challenges and rewards of engineering. Other community investments include Exploration Place, Youth Entrepreneurs and Junior Achievement of Wichita, and multiple university partnerships.
